Indians
suffer three losses last week

The Dodge County High Indians basketball team fell to 2-6 on the year with three losses last week. The Indians lost 64-40 at West Laurens on Tuesday, December 16, lost 64-29 against Appling County on Friday, December 19 and 55-45 to Jefferson County on Saturday, December 20.
Scoring for the Indians against West Laurens were: Herschel Anderson, 13 points; Tamius Lemon, nine points; Javarris Gordon, seven points; Calvin Nash, six points; Telvin Strutchen, three points and Leonard Floyd, three points.
Scoring for the Indians against Appling County were: Jermayne Hamilton, eight points; Herschel Anderson, four points; Calvin Nash, four points; Chris Howard, four points; Telvin Strutchen, three points; Javarris Gordon, three points and Leonard Floyd, three points.
In Saturday’s game with the Jefferson County Warriors, the Indians lead 12-9 after one quarter. Herschel Anderson led in the quarter with five points. Telvin Strutchen had seven points in the second quarter to help Dodge to a 24-23 lead at the half. The Warriors outscored Dodge 17-10 in the third quarter to take a 40-34 lead. Calvin Nash and Jermayne each had two points in the quarter to lead the Indians. Strutchen had seven points to lead the Indians in the final quarter but it was not enough as the Warriors outscored Dodge 15-11 to extend their lead to 55-45 and take the victory in the region cross-over game.
Final scoring for the Indians was: Telvin Strutchen, 15 points; Javarris Gordon, 14 points; Herschel Anderson, nine points; Jermayne Hamilton, five points; Calvin Nash, two points.
The Indians were scheduled to participate in the Jeff Davis Holiday Tournament on Saturday, December 27 through Tuesday, December 30. Indians will travel to Darton College in Albany to take on Hardaway in a New Year’s Shootout at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 3, before returning home on Tuesday, January 6 for a region game with Vidalia.
