Indians suffer losses to top ranked teams;

lose to Toombs County by one in overtime

The Dodge County Indians basketball team lost two games to ranked teams Dublin and Laney and lost a heartbreaker in overtime to Toombs County last week. The Indians lost 94-56 to the number one ranked Irish on Tuesday, January 13 and lost 73-43 to seventh ranked Laney in Augusta on Saturday, January 17. The Indians lost 51-50 in overtime to Toombs County in Lyons on Friday, January 16. The Indians are now 2-4 in the sub-region.

Final scoring for the Indians against Dublin was: Cyprin Burse, 14 points; Jermayne Hamilton, 14 points; Leonard Floyd, 10 points; Herschel Anderson, seven points; Laquan Hogue, four points; Calvin Nash, three points; Javarris Gordon, two points; Telvin Strutchens, two points.

Final scoring for the Indians against Toombs County was: Jermayne Hamilton, 20 points; Leonard Floyd, 11 points; Cyprin Burse, seven points; Herschel Anderson, six points; Tamius Lemon, four points; Javarris Gordon, two points.

Final scoring for the Indians against Laney was: Jermayne Hamilton, 18 points; Leonard Floyd, 13 points; Cyprin Burse, five points; Herschel Anderson, two points; Tamius Lemon, two points; Chris Howard, two points; Calvin Nash, one point.

The Indians were schedule to host Bleckley County on Tuesday, January 20. They travel to Vidalia on Friday, January 23. Dodge returns home Saturday, January 24 for region cross-over game with Southeast Bulloch and then travel to East Laurens on Tuesday, January 27.
