Indians begin region

tournament play this week

The Region 3AA Basketball Tournament was scheduled to kick off on Tuesday, February 17 at Southeast Bulloch High School in Brooklet. Both Dodge County teams will play in the tournament.
The Indians finished as the fourth seed in sub-region 3B-AA and will face the fifth seeded Screven County Gamecocks from sub-region 3A-AA on Tuesday, February 17 at 5:30 p.m. With a win the Indians then would face the number one team from sub-region 3A-AA in the Laney Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 18. The Indians would continue to play as long as they win. Their next game would be on Friday, February 20 at 5:30 in the semifinals and the Finals and consolation games would be on Saturday at 5:30 and 8:30 p.m.
The fourth ranked and number one seeded Squaws will play their first game on Thursday, February 19 at 8:30 p.m. against the winner of the Swainsboro/Toombs Co. game that will be played on Wednesday, February 18. The Squaws have to win this game to advance to the state tournament and continue on in the region tournament. With a win the Squaws would play again on Friday, February 20 at 7:00 p.m. in the semi-finals. With another win they would play in the championship game on Saturday, February 21 at 7:00 p.m. A loss on Friday would put them in the third/fourth place game at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
